Steep Slope Roofing

Shingle roofing systems are mostly known for single-family homes and residential roofing, but shingles are very often used for steep slope commercial roofing and multi-family applications.
Shingles come in a variety of styles and shapes. Also, for application in Southern California most shingles are available in CRRC rated “Cool Roof” versions. The more reflective versions reduce interior cooling costs and lessen the heat-island effect of typical roofing systems.
Common Types of Shingles
- 3-Tab – Lowest cost and lightest weight.
- High-Definition – Thicker and more durable than 3-Tab shingles, with additional coloring and texture to improve aesthetic. This is the most-commonly installed type of shingle.
- TL Shingle – This extra-thick shingle is intended to match the appearance of wood shingles and is excellent for very steep roofs.
