The owner of this existing studio building near the Burbank Airport contracted to have 4 cell towers installed on the roof.
Because the existing substrate of the roof is concrete and the design for the new equipment screens was based on 8”x8” fiberglass posts, a unique waterproofing solution was necessary.
Costa Roofing worked with SIKA to provide a liquid-applied specification based on RoofPro 641.
The fiberglass posts and the adjacent roof areas were prepped extensively and primed. Caulk cants were installed and RoofPro 641 was installed and reinforced with polyester fabric.
This project was definitely unique but the repairs are likely to outlast the roof!
